1-11-21 high speed chase-fdl county

An Illinois man is in custody following a high speed chase in Fond du Lac County.  The chase started shortly before 2am Sunday after a sheriff’s deputy attempted a traffic stop on  Highway 26 at Olden Road for a vehicle for a speeding violation.   The nearly 20 mile long chase reached speeds of over 100 miles an hour and continued onto Highway 151 into Dodge County ending when the vehicle crashed in a ditch at the exit for southbound Highway 26.    The driver fled on foot and was apprehended a  short time later.  A  25-year-old male from Illinois faces charges of OWI first offense, felony fleeing, possession of marijuana-repeater, speeding,  and passing in a no passing zone.  Two passengers were identified as two 27-year-old males from Illinois and are both being charged with possession of marijuana.   There were no injuries as a result of the pursuit.
