A lower number of COVID-19 cases and fewer people are getting tested in Fond du Lac County. Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says the Drive Through testing site at the Fairgrounds saw it’s fewest number of people last Thursday, since it first opened last fall. Mueller says the site has the capacity to test about 900 people, but only 278 people got tested Thursday. Mueller says if you look at a graph it would show that cases did peak shortly before Thanksgiving. The Drive Through testing site will be open Thursdays at the Fairgrounds through the first week in March.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
