The Fond du Lac Ethics Board has scheduled a second closed door meeting for Tuesday afternoon regarding a second complaint that has been filed with the board. The meeting is a continuation of a closed door meeting on the second complaint that was held January 5. The meeting notice does not say who the complaint was filed against. In September an ethics complaint was filed against Fond du Lac city councilmember Ben Giles. Last November the board found probable cause that Giles violated three sections of the city’s ethics code. A formal hearing in the Giles case is scheduled for next month.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
