1-20-21 politically motivated vandalism in waupun

todayJanuary 20, 2021

The Waupun police department is asking the public for help in solving a rash of politically motivated vandalism incidents.  Police chief Scott Louden says vandals spray-painted the words Trump 2020 on the sidewalk in front of the Historical Society and on the walls of the Masonic Lodge and Harmsen Funeral home buildings over the weekend.  Louden says a few tips have already come in.  He says there’s no question the vandalism is connected to the political rhetoric surrounding the election.  “Yeah, absolutely,”  Louden told WFDL news.  “Everybody has their voice and everybody has their opinion.  I’m okay with that.  But when it comes committing crimes and voicing your opinion by causing vandalism, it’s unacceptable.”  Anyone with information is asked to call Waupun Police.
