(AP) — Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos is again limiting who can interact with him on social media two years after a federal judge found he had unconstitutionally blocked a liberal group from following him on Twitter. 1-20-21 rawhide youth services counseling center-fdl

Construction is underway on a new Rawhide Youth Services Counseling Center in Fond du Lac.   Groundbreaking ceremonies were held this week for the facility at Highway 45 and County Highway K.   Rawhide Chief Development Officer, Heather Stern, says the new facility will include six therapy rooms and 12 horse stalls for equine therapy on 37 acres of land.  Construction actually started in December and is scheduled for completion in June.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The state Department of Natural Resources' policy board could reconsider a plan to dramatically raise mining fees next week. The new rules would increase regulatory fees and costs for nonferrous mining operations by nearly $502,000 per project. 1-20-21 one person seriously injured in two vehicle crash on hwy 151 in fdl

Four people were injured, one seriously, in a two vehicle crash in Fond du Lac County.  The crash happened Tuesday morning on Highway 151 and Ducharme Parkway.  A preliminary investigation shows a pickup truck was northbound on 151  entered the median, travelling into the southbound lanes  striking a southbound pickup truck traveling on USH 151.   The driver of the northbound pickup, a 17 year old male from Malone, was flown by helicopter to Theda […]

1-19-21 dodge county sheriff says no specific threats locally preceeding inauguration

The Dodge County Sheriff says there have been no specific threats locally as security ramps up across the country for the presidential inauguration.   Governor Tony Evers activated the National Guard following the attack on the U.S. Capitol and an FBI memo warning of armed protests at state capitals in all 50 states.   Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says local law enforcement is on alert but has received no reports of any local threats.  […]

The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer says administering the Pfizer vaccine is more complicated and time consuming than most people may think.   Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says it’s not like getting a flu shot.  Mueller says there are five doses in each vial.  She says it takes about 30 minutes to thaw, and once it’s thawed the vaccine has to be used within five days.  When it’s drawn up […]
