MILWAUKEE (AP) — Wisconsin health officials are confirming 19 new deaths due to the coronavirus, all but two of which were in Milwaukee County. 1-19-21 fdl county sheriff’s deputies respond to dozens of mostly minor traffic crashes over the weekend

Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputies responded to more than 60 mostly minor traffic crashes on slippery ice and snow covered roads over the weekend.  Sheriff’s captain Bill Tadych says freezing drizzle caught many motorists off-guard Sunday morning.  Tadych says a semi narrowly missed striking a sheriff’s squad car parked on the side of Interstate 41 near South Main Street by less than five feet.

1-19-21 kenosha police sergeant killed in snowmobile crash

KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) — The Kenosha Police Department says one of its sergeants has died in a snowmobile crash in northern Wisconsin. The department announced Sunday that Sgt. 1-19-21 wausau father arrested in death of infant

WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) — Wausau police are recommending a reckless homicide charge against the father of a 3-month-old baby who died last week after suffering a brain injury. Authorities say the infant’s parents brought the child to Aspirus Wausau Hospital on Jan. 9. 1-18-21 nobody injured in nfdl kitchen fire

Nobody was injured in a fire that damaged a kitchen in a North Fond du Lac residence.  Firefighters were called to the scene on Broadway Street near Thurke Avenue early Sunday morning to find smoke visible and located a fire in the kitchen.   According to a press release the fire caused extensive damage to the kitchen and heat and smoke damage to the rest of the home.

1-18-21 former deputy sentenced to prison for burglary

JUNEAU, Wis. (AP) — A former sheriff’s deputy accused of breaking into the houses of people attending funerals and homes of coworkers has been sentenced in Dodge County to two years in prison. Former Jefferson County deputy, Janelle Gericke, was found guilty of two felony counts of burglary and a felony count of attempted burglary. 1-18-21 fdl county tops 11,000 covid-19 cases

Fond du Lac County has topped 11,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19.  There were 51 new confirmed cases on Friday bringing to 11,039 the total number of cases in the county.  There have been 73 COVID-19 deaths in Fond du Lac County since the start of the pandemic.
