GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Former Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson has died. He was 68. The Packers announced Thursday that Thompson died the previous night at his home in Atlanta, Texas. Thompson was the Packers’ general manager during the 2010 season when they won their last Super Bowl. He was in that position from 2005-17. 1-22-21 semi strikes and kills person in green lake county

One person was killed after being struck by a semi in Green Lake County.  The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened Wednesday afternoon on Highway K east of Craig Road.   A preliminary investigation shows a person had exited a vehicle and walked into the path of a semi.  The victim was flown by helicopter to Theda Care Medical Center in Neenah but later died.  The crash is under investigation.

1-21-21 fdl county health officer says record daily deaths may be tied to covid spike in november

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Two Republican lawmakers have introduced legislation aimed at reforming police use-of-force policies and investigations. Republican Sens. Van Wanggaard and Alberta Darling unveiled the package on Wednesday. The president of Envision Greater Fond du Lac is encouraging area businesses to apply for Paycheck Protection Program loans under the latest stimulus package approved by congress.  Envision president Sadie Parafiniuk says applications for the new round of PPP loans opened last week, and more applications are expected to be open this week.  Parafiniuk says if you haven’t applied, check with your local financial institution.
