Wisconsin does not do well in the latest American Lung Association State of Tobacco Control Report.   Wisconsin received F grades in funding for state tobacco prevention programs, coverage and access to tobacco quit services and ending the sale of flavored tobacco products.  The state received a D grade for tobacco taxes.  The only area where the state did well was in the strength of it’s smokefree workplace laws where it received an A grade.  American Lung Association in Wisconsin senior director for public policy and advocacy, Pat McKone says the Association supports a dollar increase in the cigarette tax.  In Wisconsin, the adult smoking rate is at 15.4 percent, higher than the national average.
