Fond du Lac police are investigating a shooting incident that sent a Fond du Lac man to the hospital. Early Friday morning police officers responded to a crash involving a car striking a light pole and several parking meters. The driver, a 39 year old Fond du Lac man, was found unresponsive but breathing and transported to St. Agnes Hospital. At the hospital doctors discovered the victim had a gunshot wound to his leg. He was flown by helicopter to Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Neenah. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
