A Fond du Lac man who was transported to the hospital Friday with a gunshot wound to his leg has died from his injuries and two people are in custody. Police say 39 year old David Posey was pronounced dead at Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Neenah. A 30 year old Fond du lac man and 29 year old Fond du Lac woman have been taken into custody in connection with the incident. Early Friday morning police officers responded to a crash involving a car striking a light pole and several parking meters. Police say Posey was found unresponsive but breathing and transported to St. Agnes Hospital where doctors discovered he had a gunshot wound to his leg. Posey was flown by helicopter to Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Neenah where he later died.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
