2-19-21 low voter turnout in fdl county primary election

Voter turnout in this week’s primary election was lower than expected in the city of Fond du Lac and Fond du Lac County.   County Clerk Lisa Freiberg says the turnout was about 19 percent in the city of Fond du Lac and 14 percent countywide.  Freiberg says some people decided not to vote their mail-in absentee ballot.   She says the post office was diligent in getting last minute ballots to polling places.  The votes will be canvassed Monday.  Statewide voter turnout barely topped seven percent.  The only statewide race was for superintendent of public instruction.
