A Theresa man charged in connection with a fatal traffic crash has waived his preliminary hearing.   Twenty eight year old David Worley was bound over for trial on three counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle.  Worley was the driver of a car that collided with an ambulance after running a red light at the intersection of Johnson and Main Streets in Fond du Lac last September 15.   A passenger […]

3-22-21 fdl firefighters quickly extinguish roof fire

Fond du Lac firefighters quickly extinguished a fire on the roof of a Fond du Lac house Saturday afternoon apparently started by an illegal firework before it caused significant damage.  The resident saw smoke coming from the roof of the house at 479 West Scott Street and dialed 911.  The resident told investigators they believe people were shooting off fireworks, and that started the fire.  Police checked the area and did not […]

3-22-21 fdl lakeside park lighthouse repair

The Fond du Lac Lighthouse at Lakeside Park is undergoing maintenance to repair deteriorating siding boards.   The damage was discovered by park staff during a routine inspection of the Lighthouse.   A city park crew will begin to replace the boards that have deteriorated starting on Monday. The boards will be replaced with like material,  not affecting the historical significance of the Lighthouse.
