Fond du Lac police are investigating a stabbing incident that occurred over the weekend. A 34 year old Fond du Lac man says he was walking early Sunday morning in the area of Marquette and Johnson Streets when he was approached from behind by a man who demanded some items from him. The victim says he pulled away from the subject and ran to a nearby residence where he discovered he had been stabbed. He was treated at St. Agnes Hospital and released. Anyone with information is asked to call police.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
