A Fond du Lac man convicted in connection with a drug-related shooting incident that injured two people one critically will spend the rest of his life in prison. Fond du Lac judge Peter Grimm sentenced Delaney Watt to 79 years in prison and 63 years extended supervision. Earlier this month a jury found Watt guilty of reckless injury and endangering safety, but not guilty of attempted homicide. The shooting happened September 12, 2018 outside the Eldorado Apartments on Forest Avenue. The shooting injured a 17 year old Fond du Lac girl and left a 26 year old Fond du lac man paralyzed.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
