Nobody was injured and the driver is in custody following a high speed chase in Fond du Lac County. It started shortly before 2am Friday when a Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a vehicle without license plates in the area of Hawes Court and County Highway D in the town of Fond du Lac. The vehicle continued southbound on USH 151. Tire deflation devices were unsuccessful, but the vehicle apparently suffered a mechanical issue and stopped on USH 151 at STH 49. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was taken into custody without incident. The pursuit traveled approximately 13 miles.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
