MENOMONIE, Wis. (AP) — A University of Wisconsin System regents subcommittee has signed off on eliminating a surcharge for most system students who accumulate too many credits. The Dodge County Sheriff has a warning for residents.   Methamphetamine is here and becoming more and more widespread.  Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says deputies have reported a sharp increase in the impacts of meth use in recent months.  Schmidt says deputies have responded to meth overdoses and individuals who are mentally ill and suicidal while using meth.   He says the problem is the drug’s spread cannot be stopped by law enforcement […]

MILWAUKEE (AP) — A man accused of climbing over a fence at the Milwaukee County Zoo’s elephant enclosure is facing a trespassing charge. An Oshkosh man has been arrested following a high speed chase in Fond du Lac County.  The chase started about 12:30am Thursday when a sheriff’s deputy attempted a traffic stop on a  vehicle for an equipment violation  on Interstate 41 at Townline Road.  The chase continued for approximately 5 miles before the vehicle pulled over.   Both occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody without incident.   The driver, a 33-year-old Oshkosh man, was cited for […]
