Fond du Lac County continues to trend in the right direction when it comes to new positive COVID-19 cases and deaths. After 13 new positive cases were reported over the weekend there were only four new COVID-19 cases reported on Monday. Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says it’s reminiscent of the beginning of the pandemic. There have been 111 COVID-19 deaths reported in Fond du Lac County since the beginning of the pandemic. But Mueller says there have not been any deaths reported in the last three weeks.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
