A Milwaukee man has been charged in connection with a shooting incident at a Fond du Lac tavern this spring that seriously injured a Fond du Lac man. Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney says Devonta Tate has been charged with attempted first degree intentional homicide, felon in possession of a firearm, bail jumping, and numerous other charges in relation to a shooting that occurred at the Kings and Queens Lounge on March 28. Police say the victim received multiple serious, but non life-threatening gunshot wounds. Tate was taken into custody in April on a different matter and an initial appearance date has not yet been set.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
