The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer says she has a lot of questions about when and if a COVID-19 booster shot will be needed in the next year. Dr. Anthony Fauci said recently we don’t know if or when we will need booster shots, but it would be foolish not to prepare for them. Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says her Department has not received any information about the possibility of booster shots. Mueller says another question is whether a booster shot would be a tweaked version of the vaccine meant to target certain variants? It’s unclear which type of booster, an identical shot or a modified version would be needed in the future, and how long after people are initially vaccinated that they would need another dose.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
