6-7-21 illinois man arrested following chase in fdl and washington counties

An Illinois man was arrested following a chase involving a stolen vehicle in Fond du Lac and Washington counties.   The chase started  shortly after 4pm Sunday after citizens reported a reckless driver on Interstate 41 near Highway 151.  The chase continued southbound at highway speed into Washington County where  the  suspect driver exited I-41 at Hwy 60, causing side damage to another vehicle before traveling through the intersection and off the roadway where his vehicle was disabled. The suspect was taken into custody shortly after.   There were no injuries reported during the pursuit.  Through further investigation, Fond du Lac deputies determined that the suspect had stolen the vehicle earlier in the day from a dealership in Illinois. He was also involved in a separate pursuit with Marinette County at approximately 2:00 p.m. that resulted in damage to the stolen vehicle as well as another motorist and no injuries occurred during that incident. The pursuit from Fond du Lac traveled 27 miles.
