A Fond du Lac girl was critically injured after being struck by a car while riding her bicycle. Rescue personnel were called to the area of East Johnson and Amory Streets shortly after 9pm Monday . An eight year old girl was transported to St. Agnes Hospital in critical condition and then flown by helicopter to Children’s Hospital. A preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle travelling west bound on Johnson Street, driven by a 50-year-old North Fond du Lac man struck the child as she was attempting to cross the street on her bike.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
