A Fond du Lac man escaped serious injury in a two vehicle crash that seriously injured the other driver. The cxrash happened Tuesday morning on Interstate 43 in Manitowoc County. According to the State Patrol a car driven by a 24 year old Stevens Point man was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed collided with a northbound vehicle operated by a 65 year old Fond du Lac man. The Fond du Lac man was treated and released on the scene. The Stevens Point man was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
