6-10-21 fdl girl continues to recover following bike vs vehicle collision

The Fond du Lac Fire Chief says a serious injury vehicle versus bicycle accident is another reminder that bicyclists and motorists need to be aware of their surroundings.  Eight year old Miaya Hartwig of Fond du Lac  was critically injured when she was struck by a car as she was attempting to cross East Johnson Street Monday night.   She is in stable condition at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee with head and shoulder injuries.  […]

6-10-21 drivers tests for teen drivers could be waived

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — New drivers in Wisconsin may no longer have to take a behind-the-wheel exam driving exam under a proposal from Gov. Tony Evers approved by the Legislature’s budget committee. 6-10-21 fdl school district acuity grant fund recipients

The Fond du Lac School Board has handed out more than $29,000 in Acuity Fund grants to 14 projects throughout the school district.  The fund was established several years ago by the  Acuity Insurance naming rights to the Fond du Lac High School Field House.   Each year the Board uses interest earned on the fund to pay for  projects that otherwise may not be funded through the District budget.  School Board president […]

6-10-21 fdl drowning victim identified

The Fond du Lac Police Department has identified the victim of an apparent drowning in the Fond du Lac River.  Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says the victim has been identified as 37 year old Mathew Rosiere of Fond du Lac.  Klein says the body was discovered in the river near the Ninth Street Bridge Friday evening and preliminary autopsy results indicate drowning was the cause of death.   Klein says many people may […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Marquette University will require students to get vaccinated against COVID-19 to attend classes this fall. The university made the announcement on Monday. The school says students will need to get vaccinated by Aug. 1 to attend classes. Marquette is the third private university in the state to mandate vaccinations for students.
