6-8-21 beaver dam contractor spends $30,000 of client’s money on google purchases

A Beaver Dam man convicted of Theft by Contractor has been ordered to pay more than $70,000 in restitution.  Dodge County Circuit judge Joseph Sciascia also placed 40 year old Norbert Ortiz on probation for five years.   According to a criminal complaint Ortiz failed to complete a $110,000 home remodeling project, and spent over $61,000 paid by the resident on purchases from Google, restaurants, groceries, casinos, cell phone service, and paid himself $38,000 for the […]

6-8-21 watertown woman sentenced to prison for possession of meth

A Watertown woman is going to prison for possession of methamphetamine.  Dodge County Circuit judge Brian Pfitzinger sentenced 41 year old Misty Paulson to a year and a half in prison and two years extended supervision.  She was originally placed in probation in 2019 but did not successfully complete the Dodge County Drug Treatment Court program.

6-8-21 wisconsin woman accused of poisoning friend with eyedrops

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Prosecutors have accused a suburban Milwaukee woman of killing her friend by poisoning her with eyedrops. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports 37-year-old Jessy Kurczewski of Franklin was charged Friday with homicide and two counts of felony theft. Former NBA player and Wisconsin native Caron Butler is among those asking Connecticut's governor to sign a bill that would strictly limit the use of solitary confinement in prison. 6-7-21 porch fire displaces fdl residents

Nobody was injured in a weekend fire that displaced the residents of a Fond du Lac duplex.   Shortly before 11:30pm Saturday firefighters responded to a porch fire at 331 West Division Street.  The fire was quickly extinguished, but not before it caused damage to the porch, doorway, and exterior siding.  Investigators say improper discarding of smoking materials started the fire. Seven occupants who resided in the upper unit are being assisted by the Red Cross.
