6-21-21 high speed motorcycle chase

6-21-21 fdl jail inmate death

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office has released more information about the inmate who died in his jail cell Friday night.  Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says 73-year-old Donald Forqurean of Fond du Lac was in custody awaiting trial on charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless endangering safety, and operating a  firearm while intoxicated, all stemming from a Fond du Lac Police Department investigation into a shooting that occurred in January of 2020.  […]

6-18-21 dodge county fatal crash investigation

6-18-21 fdl fire investigation

The cause of a fire that damaged a downtown Fond du Lac  business remains under investigation. Fire Chief Pete O’Leary says the Thursday morning  fire caused moderate damage to The Smoke Shop on South Main Street, and displaced six residents who lived in apartments above the business.   O’Leary says a broken water pipe appears to have prevented the fire from spreading.

6-18-21 wisconsin unemployment rate unchanged

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin’s unemployment rate is unchanged for May at 3.9%. The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development reported the latest figures on Thursday. The nationwide unemployment rate in May was 5.8%. A year ago, in May 2020 as the coronavirus pandemic was worsening, Wisconsin’s unemployment rate was 10.4%. Wisconsin added 3,400 private sector jobs in May, bringing its total to 201,100 more than a year ago.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Department of Health Services is tracking a new variant of COVID-19 with more than two dozen cases in the state. The Delta strain has been elevated to a “variant of concern” in Wisconsin.
