7-9-21 fdl police continue to investigate gun shots fired on fourth of july

Fond du Lac police are continuing to investigate a report of gunshots fired into the air in the early morning hours on the Fourth of July.  Witnesses told police officers someone in a car fired several  gunshots straight up into the air at the intersection of Foresst Avenue and South Military Road.  Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says it could be that the person was firing a gun to celebrate the Fourth of July.   “We don’t see it all to often around here but it does occur throughout the country where people on the Fourth of July will fire handguns, firearms, up in the air to celebrate the Fourth of July.”
