A Beaver Dam man was injured after an accidental shooting. Shortly before 11am Sunday the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and paramedics responded to the 8300 block of North Hickory Lane in Beaver Dam for a report of a 41 year old man who had been accidentally shot in the chest. The victim was transported by ambulance to the Marshfield Medical Center, Beaver Dam and later flown by MedFlight to UW Hospital in Madison.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
