The Fond du lac County road construction season is is in full swing. Highway commissioner Tom Janke says one of the larger projects involves the reconstruction of Highway V between Eden and Campbellsport. Highway Y in the village of Campbellsport is being reconstructed. Janke says Highway S from Highway G to New Fane will be repaved, along with Highway OO from County Highway I to County VV, and Highway VVV from County OOO to Highway OO. Janke says the county is also evaluating reconstructing Highway E between Fairwater and Ripon.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
