7-20-21 fairgrounds swimming pool closing

The City of Fond du Lac’s Parks Dept along with the Fond du Lac Rec Dept will be closing the Fairgrounds Aquatic Center Tuesday, July 20 through Thursday, July 22 due to the shortage of lifeguards. During this closure, Taylor Park Pool will be open for swim from 12:00 pm to 4:00pm.   The Fairgrounds Aquatic Center will re-open on Friday, July 22.

A retired Ripon College economist says child tax credit money heading to parents will have a very big impact.   The U.S. government last week started to deposit the money into the accounts of more than 35 million families.  Retired Ripon College economist Paul Schoofs says he doesn’t buy the argument by some Republican lawmakers that the payments will make parents less likely to work.

(AP) — Walmart has lost a federal lawsuit in Wisconsin, as a jury sided with a sales associate who has Down syndrome and alleged that schedule changes exacerbated attendance problems that led to her firing.
