7-22-21 man sentenced to life without parole in oshkosh shootings

OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — A Monticello man convicted in shootings that wounded his ex-girlfriend and killed his girlfriend’s father has been sentenced to life in prison without parole. A jury in May convicted Joshua Aide of first-degree intentional homicide in the killing of James Gruettner. 7-22-21 local unemployment rate up

The local unemployment rate is up in the latest reporting period.  The unemployment rate jumped half a percent  in June to 3.7 percent in both Dodge and Fond du Lac counties.   The city of Fond du Lac’s unemployment rate stands at 4.3 percent, up from 3.9 percent in May.

7-22-21 three more covid-19 deaths in fdl county

Three more COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Fond du Lac County.   The Fond du Lac County Health Department says two men, ages  87 and 54 and an 80 year old woman have died from COVID-19.   There have now been 129 deaths reported in Fond du Lac County since the beginning of the pandemic.

7-22-21 eaa airventure returns to oshkosh

After being cancelled last year due to the pandemic the  world’s greatest aviation celebration returns to Oshkosh next week.   EAA AirVenture starts Monday  and runs through Sunday August first at Wittman Regional Airport.  EAA spokesman Dick Knapinski says this year features a salute  to humanitarian aviation.   The Fond du Lac Airport serves as a satellite airport during the week-long event.
