OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — A Monticello man convicted in shootings that wounded his ex-girlfriend and killed his girlfriend’s father has been sentenced to life in prison without parole. The local unemployment rate is up in the latest reporting period.  The unemployment rate jumped half a percent  in June to 3.7 percent in both Dodge and Fond du Lac counties.   The city of Fond du Lac’s unemployment rate stands at 4.3 percent, up from 3.9 percent in May.

After being cancelled last year due to the pandemic the  world’s greatest aviation celebration returns to Oshkosh next week.   EAA AirVenture starts Monday  and runs through Sunday August first at Wittman Regional Airport.  EAA spokesman Dick Knapinski says this year features a salute  to humanitarian aviation.   The Fond du Lac Airport serves as a satellite airport during the week-long event.
