The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer is encouraging unvaccinated residents to get vaccinated following the recent surge in COVID-19 cases. Kim Mueller says Fond du Lac County is now experiencing a high level of community transmission. Mueller says 46 COVID-19 cases were reported over the weekend and seven people are now hospitalized with the virus in Fond du Lac County. Mueller says while the numbers are still much lower than last fall and winter…it is spking in recent weeks, fueled by the more contagious delta variant.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
