Fond du Lac High School has a new assistant principal. The Fond du Lac School Board has approved the hiring of Alexandra Garcia-Bankowski to the post. She comes to Fond du Lac from South Milwaukee High School where she was the Dean of Students. Alexandra Garcia-Bankowski earned a Master of Education degree in Secondary Social Studies at DePaul University and a master’s degree in Educational Policy and Leadership from Marquette University. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and International Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
