The Fond du lac County Sheriff says a sheriff’s deputy was able to terminate a high speed chase with a suspected drunken driver because the driver had already identified himself when he was initially pulled over.   The 49 year old Green Lake County man was pulled over early Friday morning on Highway 45 in the town of Auburn, but fled the scene at a high rate of speed.  Because of foggy conditions, the deputy decided to terminate the chase,  and the driver was later apprehended in Germantown following another chase and subsequent foot pursuit.  Fond  du Lac County Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says when the decision was made to terminate the chase for safety reasons law enforcement already knew the identity of the suspect.
