Fond du Lac High School has a new assistant principal.  The Fond du Lac School Board has approved the hiring of  Alexandra Garcia-Bankowski to the post.  She comes to Fond du Lac from South Milwaukee High School where she was the Dean of Students.   Alexandra Garcia-Bankowski earned a Master of Education degree in Secondary Social Studies at DePaul University and a master’s degree in Educational Policy and Leadership from Marquette University. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Department of Corrections says nearly 70% of eligible inmates in state prisons have been fully vaccinated for the coronavirus. Corrections Secretary Kevin Carr says cases of COVID-19 have declined sharply since the early months of the pandemic because of the high vaccination rate for eligible youth and adult prisoners. 8-11-21 opioid overdoses rising in wi during pandemic

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A new report finds that opioid overdoses in Wisconsin have increased since the COVID-19 pandemic began. The state Department of Health Services released an analysis Tuesday that shows the rate of overdose incidents rose from about seven per 100,000 people in January 2019 to about 13 per 100,000 people this past March.
