8-11-21 group of ssm employees express concern about vaccine mandate

A group of  Fond du Lac SSM Health employees is raising concerns over the health care company mandate that all employees receive the COVID-19 vaccine.   Spokesperson Jennifer Lucas says the group,  calling themselves Health Employees for Medical Freedom of Fond du Lac County,   is concerned that the mandate violates their rights to medical privacy and autonomy.   Lucas says the group is made up of nearly 100 SSM employees and is growing.   She […]

8-10-21 fdl bathroom fire spreads to attic

Nobody was injured when a bathroom fan caught fire and spread to the attic of a Fond du Lac home.     Shortly after 7pm Monday firefighters were called to 933 Windsor Avenue where the family had safely exited the home.  The fire was exitinguished, but not before damaging the bathroom and water damage to the home.

8-10-21 minivan vs. semi crash-fdl county

A Manitowac man escaped serious injury when his minivan collided with a semi-truck in Fond du Lac County.     The crash happened Monday afternoon on Highway 151 and Winnebago Park Road in the town of Calumet.  The minivan driver told deputies he sneezed before drifting across the center line of Highway 151 striking the front end of a southbound semi.

8-10-21 state fair clinic administers nearly 200 vaccine doses

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A free clinic at the Wisconsin State Fair has administered nearly 200 doses of COVID-19 vaccine so far. Gov. Tony Evers' administration said Monday that the clinic has administered 194 doses since the fair opened on Thursday. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Tony Evers is handing Wisconsin hotels $70 million in federal coronavirus aid. The governor announced the move Monday. He says grants of up to $2 million went out Friday to 888 lodging businesses around the state to help offset losses resulting from the pandemic.
