8-24-21 fdl county sheriff says high speed chase was called off because driver had been identified

8-24-21 man dies after saving two children in lake michigan

RACINE, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say a man died after saving two children who were in distress in the waters of Lake Michigan in Racine. Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling said  that the 40-year-old Missouri man was a hero. 8-23-21 fire destroys house in fdl county

Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed a house in Fond  du Lac County.   Firefighters were called to the scene at N5827 Ritger Drive west of the city of Fond du Lac about 10pm Sunday to find the house engulfed in flames.   Firefighters were on the scene until about 2am Monday.   A 98 year old woman who lived at the residence was not injured.  The cause of the fire is under […]

8-23-21 fatal crash-dodge county

One person was killed and two people were injured in a two vehicle crash near Waupun in Dodge County.   The crash happened shortly after 7:30pm Sunday  on County Highway C at the intersection with Jersey Road.   A preliminary investigation shows  a car failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection and was struck by an SUV.  The car driver was pronounced dead at the scene and a passenger  was flown by […]

8-23-21 two vehicle crash blocks fdl intersection

Nobody was seriously injured in a two vehicle crash at a busy Fond du Lac intersection Sunday afternoon.  Rescue personnel were called to the scene at Johnson  and North Main Streets shortly after 1:30pm.  At least two people were transported to the hospital.    Traffic was blocked on North Main Street, and limited to one lane on Johnson as crews worked to clear the scene.

LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin shrine founded by a high-ranking Roman Catholic cardinal who has COVID-19 says he has been taken off a ventilator. 8-23-21 fdl low income housing project receives financial assistance

A Fond du Lac apartment project is one of three projects in Wisconsin that have been awarded a total of $1.3 million in National Housing Trust Fund financing by the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority.   The projects provide housing to extremely low-income elderly and disabled residents.  The projects previously received state and federal 4% housing tax credits administered by WHEDA.   The housing trust fund awards expand the number of units available to vulnerable […]
