Fond du Lac Public Works says the westbound lanes of West Scott Street from State Highway 45 to Satterlee Street will be closed this week. The closure will begin Tuesday, September 7 and remain closed until Friday, September 10. Traffic on West Scott Street will still have access to northbound State Highway 45 during the closure. Westbound motorist on West Scott Street and southbound motorist wishing to travel west from State highway 45 are encouraged to utilize alternative routes while the work takes place as there will be no signed detour route. The closure will be in place to allow for storm sewer repairs and pavement restoration.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
