It turns out a tentative Fond du Lac County supervisory district plan does include one district resulting in two incumbent supervisors being forced to run against each other in next springs’ election. The Fond du Lac County Board this week approved the tentative plan. County Board chairman Marty Farrell says the plan puts supervisors in District 16 and District 4 in the same District. Brooke Hills currently represents District 16 and Mike Will represents District 4. Farrell says in redrawing the district maps, incumbent protection or gerrymandering, was the lowest priority for consideration.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
