A Rosendale woman was seriously injured in a collision with a semi in the village of Rosendale. The crash happened about 8:30pm Monday at the intersection of Highway 26 and Highway 23. According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office a semi traveling west on Highway 23 failed to stop for a red traffic signal colliding with a northbound vehicle operated by a 31-year-old Rosendale woman. She was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported to the hospital with what were described as significant injuries. The semi operator, from Minnesota, was unharmed. Highway 26 and Highway 23 traffic was detoured during the crash investigation for approximately two hours. Inattentive driving appears to be a factor in the crash and the investigation is ongoing.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
