10-1-21 world dairy expo

todaySeptember 30, 2021

The World Dairy Expo is underway in Madison this week, but there is a different flavor to this year’s event with fewer international visitors roaming the vast grounds of the Alliant Energy Center.   COVID-19 canceled last year’s event.  This year, international travel restrictions and company policies are preventing many from outside the U.S. from traveling to Wisconsin.  Fond du Lac County Dairy and Livestock extension agent Tina Kohlman says World Dairy Expo features 2,000 cows, 650 vendors and about 500,000 square feet of exhibitor space.  Kohlman is attending her 22nd World Dairy Expo Friday and says there is always something new to learn at the event.  Founded in 1967, the world’s largest dairy-focused trade show has a $25 million annual economic impact on the region.
