9-2-21 fdl police and fire commission meets to discuss hiring new police chief

The Fond du Lac Police and Fire Commission meets this afternoon to discuss the hiring of a new police chief.  The commission will meet in closed session and could make a hiring decision at the meeting.  The finalists are interim Fond du Lac Police Chief Aaron Goldstein and Green Bay Police commander Kevin Warych.  The commission will also discuss a police disciplinary issue in closed session.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin health officials are renewing their call for people to get vaccinated, wear masks and avoid indoor gatherings over the Labor Day weekend as the state's COVID-19 case average soars. The state Department of Health Services said the state's seven-day case average stood at 1,699 on Wednesday, the highest since January. 9-2-21 two nfdl school board members resign over mask optional policy

Two North Fond du Lac School Board members have resigned following Tuesday night’s special school board meeting regarding masking.  Board members Shawn Pollack and Paula Stettbacher submitted their letters of resignation Wednesday.  The board held the meeting to reconsider their mask optional policy, but after hearing from dozens of parents opposed to a mask requirement, Superintendent Aaron Sadoff withdrew his request to have the board vote on the matter.
