9-28-21 beaver dam woman sentenced to prison in drug case

A Beaver Dam woman has been sentenced to prison in a drug case.  Dodge County Circuit Judge Kristine Snow sentenced 48 year old Gidget Wheeler  to four  years in prison followed by four  years of extended supervision  after Wheeler had her probation revoked on new cocaine-related charges.  In September 2017, the Dodge County Drug Task Force was investigating a possible drug dealer in the City of Beaver Dam. 9-28-21 funeral services for fdl police officer who died from covid-19

Funeral services are being held this week for a Fond du Lac police officer who died from COVID-19.   Officer Joseph Kurer died last Wednesday at Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee.   He was 26 years old.    Visitation will be held from 3pm to 8pm Tuesday and 9am to 10:30am Wednesday  at Holy Family Catholic Church.   Funeral services will be held at 11am Wednesday followed by law enforcement and military honors.  Masks are required.   A […]

9-28-21 fdl bus ridership down

Fond du Lac bus ridership continues to be impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.  Transit manager Lynn Gillis told WFDL news ridership has been down over the last 18 months, and now with the recent surge in cases.  Gillis says ridership is probably at about 70-percent of normal going back to 2019.  Bus ridership did pick up earlier this month with the start of the school year.  Masks are required for anyone […]

9-28-21 masking implemented at fdl elementary school

Infectious disease experts are encouraging patients not to delay getting their influenza vaccine this year.  UW Health Medical Director for Immunization Programs Doctor Jim Conway says he is concerned about a twindemic, simultaneous high levels of COVID-19 and influenza.  Doctor Conway says flu shots are available and now is a good time to get one.

9-28-21 fdl street closure

The Fond du Lac Public Works Department says  a portion of East Division Street will be closed for a couple of days.    East Division Street between Olcott Street and Park Avenue will be closed today and tomorrow  to allow for water utility repairs and pavement restoration.  A signed detour will be in place.

9-28-21 fdl area united way kicks off fundraising campaign

The Fond du Lac Area United Way has kicked off this year's fundraising campaign.  United Way director Amber Kilawee says this year's fundraising goal is $625,000.  Kilawee says last year was unprecedented with the pandemic as the United Way, like other United Ways across the state and country, struggled to raise funds to help it's member organizations.
