Residents were evacuated following a gas leak in a Fond du Lac neighborhood. Fire chief Pete O'Leary says contractors working on a street reconstruction project accidentally struck a gas line at the intersection of Doty and Arndt Streets Monday morning. O'Leary says nearby residents and businesses were evacuated and as a precaution Alliant Energy turned off power to about 45 customers until the leak was repaired.
Nobody was injured and a North Fond du Lac man is in custody following a high speed chase. A Fond du Lac man was seriously injured in an alcohol-related motorcycle crash. The crash happened shortly before 10pm Saturday on Highway 45 at Garnett Road in the town of Eden. The investigation showed the motorcyclist failed to negotiate a curve, slid into private property and struck a tree, ejecting the operator from the cycle.
