The North Fond du Lac School Board has appointed two new members to fill vacancies on the board. At a special meeting Tuesday night the board interviewed 14 candidates and selected Jonathan Goeckerman and Terry Jaeger to fill the open seats. Goeckerman works in the human resources department at the Kroger Company, and Jaeger works as a supervisor in the Wisconsin Corrections System. They replace Shawn Pollack and Paula Stettbacher who resigned last month. The terms expire in April. They will be sworn in on Friday, October 22nd.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
