WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) — Two people were killed Tuesday when a small plane crashed in a wooded area near a suburban Milwaukee neighborhood. The National Transportation Safety Board tweeted about 12:30 p.m. that a GlaStar aircraft crashed near Waukesha. You still have time for vote for the Coolest Things Made in Wisconsin.   The contest is down to four and Fond du Lac's Mercury Marine's V12 600hp Verado outboard engine is on the list.  Online voting started October 7 and continues through noon October 14.  The Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce contest is held annually to recognize manufacturing in the state.

10-13-21 fdl school board expands tosa pilot program

The Fond du Lac School District is expanding  a  pilot teaching program using federal coronavirus relief aid.  The Fond du Lac School Board this week voted in favor of hiring three middle school  Teachers on Special Assignment positions.  School Board president Mark Jurgella says there will be one position at each middle school in the district.  The pilot started at the beginning of the school year with nine positions at the elementary school level.  […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Another Wisconsin parent has filed a federal lawsuit over the lack of COVID-19 protocols at her son's school.  Gina Kildahl filed the suit Monday in Madison. Two Fond du Lac intersections are closed until next week.  The intersection  Doty and McWilliams Streets  is closed until  Monday, October 18  to complete permanent pavement restoration in the intersection as part of the Doty Street reconstruction project.  Additionally, due to weather events last week, the intersection of Doty Street and Arndt Street will remain closed until Monday, October 18.
