11-12-21 laridaen named assistant fdl police chief

Fond du Lac Police captain Jason Laridaen has been promoted to assistant chief of police.  Laridaen fills the vacancy created when assistant chief Aaron Goldstein was named police chief.   Laridaen joined the Department in 1995 as a Police Officer. In 2008 he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and was assigned as a Patrol Division supervisor where he worked until 2012 when he was assigned as an Administrative Lieutenant, tasked with oversight of recruitment, hiring, training and a number of other duties. In 2015 he was promoted to the rank of Captain and has served as a Patrol Division/East District Commander and, most recently, as the Commander of the Support Services Division.  In his most recent assignment as the Support Services Division Commander he has been responsible for oversight of training, recruitment and hiring, records management,  evidence and property control, facilities, project management, COVID-19 pandemic response, and has served as the Department’s Accreditation Manager.  Assistant Chief Laridaen earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville.   He also is a graduate of the 140th Session of the Southern Police Institute  Administrative Officers Course (University of Louisville, KY); the International Association of Chiefs of Police ‘Leadership in Police Organizations’; and a number of other advanced law enforcement and leadership programs.
