12-1-21 second person charged with voter fraud in fdl county

todayNovember 30, 2021

A second person has been charged in Fond du Lac County with voter fraud in the 2020  presidential election.  Like the first person charged earlier this year Anthony Van Egtern is a convicted felon who was still on probation when he voted.   The Campbellsport man is scheduled to make his initial court appearance December 7.  According to a criminal complaint Van Egtern voted at the Taycheeda Town Hall.  His probation was scheduled to end December 11.   Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney, who is running as a Republican for state attorney general says these prosecutions are not indicative that the election was stolen but says  “elections are the cornerstone of our democracy and the integrity of our electoral process must be protected at every turn.”   If convicted, Van Egtern faces up to 3 years and 6 months in prison and a  $10,000 fine.
