Following the deadly parade attack in Waukesha Fond du Lac police stepped up their presence and restricted traffic for Saturday’s annual Christmas Parade of Lights. Fond du Lac residents lined Main Street in downtown Fond du Lac over the weekend for the annual parade. Police Chief Aaron Goldstein says the police department worked collaboratively with the parade organizer, FDL Fire/Rescue, FDL Department of Public Works, WI State Patrol, and the FDL County Sheriff’s Office to provide a safe gathering for the community. The parade route was blocked and traffic was restricted across Main Street Saturday afternoon. All cross-traffic along Main Street was shut down.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
