Fond du Lac County Deputy District Attorney Doug Edelstein is running for Fond du Lac County Circuit Court Judge. Edelstein is running for the seat that will be vacated when judge Paul Czisny retires at the end of next July. Edelstein says if elected one change he would like to help facilitate is expanding the county’s drug court. Edestein say if elected he would be fair and impartial. Czisny was appointed to the bench earlier this year following the retirement of judge Robert Wirtz and announced last month he would not be running for election in April.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
