12-7-21 mercury marine moving distribution facility to indiana

Fond du Lac’s Mercury Marine is moving it’s  distribution center to Indiana  and at the same time expanding in Fond du Lac.   Merc announced  Thursday it plans to build a more than half million square foot distribution center near Indianapolis, Indiana, slated to open in October.    Merc president Chris Drees says  the current distribution center in Fond du Lac will be converted into additional manufacturing space to meet record demand for  Mercury propulsion systems.  According to a press release employees working at Mercury’s current distribution facility in Fond du Lac will be provided transfer opportunities to other Fond du Lac based opportunities once the transition is complete.  Meanwhile  Merc also announced it was adding close to  100,000 square feet to it’s Fond du Lac campus.   Mercury Marine says it has invested more than $1.7 billion in capacity and expansion with more than 4,000 employees in Fond du Lac and more open positions yet to fill.  Merc spokesman Lee Gordon will be a guest on AM 1170s Between the Lines program at 9:10am Tuesday.
